On Saturday 21 February 2026, the Cambridge community came together at the Cambridge Tech Centre for a vibrant and welcoming Chinese New Year celebration held in support of CamCare UK.

Taking place from 12pm to 5pm, the event marked the Year of the Horse with an afternoon full of cultural experiences, creativity, and community spirit. Open to people of all ages and backgrounds, the celebration invited families and friends to drop in, connect, and enjoy the festivities.

Highlights of the celebration included:

  • Live Chinese calligraphy, a Lunar pop-up market, and hands-on art and craft workshops

  • Traditional festive games and authentic Chinese cuisine in a beautifully decorated red and gold setting

  • An interactive children’s workshop featuring storytelling, songs, and lion and dragon dance experiences led by a Mando School teacher

Throughout the afternoon, guests embraced the welcoming atmosphere while learning more about Chinese cultural traditions in an engaging and accessible way.

Importantly, a portion of the event’s proceeds will be donated to CamCare UK to support community initiatives and venue operations. This contribution reflects the event’s deeper purpose of giving back and strengthening local connections.

The Community Chinese New Year Celebration was a joyful and meaningful occasion, bringing people together to welcome the new year with hope, culture, and shared happiness.
