On Tuesday, 20 January 2026, the CERC team "Archaeological Intelligence" proudly attended the FIRST LEGO League Regional Competition in Cambridge. This event was one of the earliest FIRST LEGO League competitions in the UK and brought together eight highly competitive teams for an exciting and challenging day.

The team prepared tirelessly in the weeks leading up to the competition, working constantly to refine their robot, teamwork, and ideas. Their Innovation Project stood out in particular. They designed a micro-bit-controlled museum guard capable of driving autonomously through a museum while capturing live environmental data such as temperature and humidity. By monitoring these conditions, the system can detect environmental changes that could damage or destroy prestigious archaeological artifacts.

All the hard work paid off. Our team "Archaeological Intelligence" was awarded the Robot Design Award, a fantastic achievement that reflects their creativity, engineering skills, and dedication.

The journey does not stop here. Over the next two weekends, the team will continue improving their robot game performance as they prepare for their next regional competition on 4 February 2026.

A big applause goes to the entire team and their supportive parents for an outstanding effort and a memorable competition experience...
